Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
